This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of the TezBill app ("App") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects your information.
We are based in India and this Policy is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

TezBill helps shopkeepers create GST invoices, manage products/customers, track payments and share bills. When you sign in (Email, Phone or Google), your data is also stored on our secure cloud servers (via Google Firebase) for backup, sync and login. If you use the App without signing in, your data is stored only on your device — we do not receive or store it, and it may be permanently lost if you uninstall, reset, lose or change your device unless you back it up.
You provide: account info (email, phone, password, or Google profile name/email/photo); shop profile (shop name, city, address, phone, GST status, GSTIN, UPI ID); products (names, prices, HSN/SAC, GST rates); invoices/transactions (amounts, taxes, dates, payment & due status); and your customers' details you choose to enter (name, phone, address, GSTIN).
Subscription & payment information: your plan tier (free or paid), the number of invoices you create in a billing period (so we can apply the free monthly limit), your subscription/payment status, and payment-confirmation details such as an order ID or transaction reference. Payments are processed by Google Play Billing — we do not collect or store your UPI PIN, card numbers, bank passwords or full bank credentials.
Collected automatically: device model, OS/app version, language, security identifiers (Firebase App Check / reCAPTCHA), crash logs and basic usage diagnostics.
Advertising ID & app-usage events: we collect your device's advertising ID and basic app-usage events — such as when the App is installed, first opened, or when you create your first invoice — via Google Firebase Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) SDK. This is used only to measure how well our advertising is working and does not include your shop, product, invoice, or customer data. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalisation, from your device's Google Settings → Ads.
From third parties: if you use "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email and profile picture.
Camera (barcode scanning): with your permission, we access your device camera only to scan product barcodes directly on your device — we do not take or save photographs, and no camera images are stored or sent to our servers; only the decoded barcode number is used to identify the product.
We do not collect biometrics, precise GPS location, contacts, or financial passwords, and we never store or upload photos.
To create/manage your account and log you in; provide core features (invoicing, products/customers, GST calculation, PDFs); scan product barcodes using your camera, on your device, to quickly add items to an invoice; operate the free tier and the optional paid plan — counting your monthly invoices to apply the free limit, processing the subscription fee, confirming your payment and unlocking continued use; back up and sync data when signed in; enable bill sharing you initiate (e.g. WhatsApp); provide support; maintain security and prevent fraud; fix and improve the App; and comply with legal/tax obligations.
We process your personal data based on your consent and, where applicable, legitimate uses permitted by law (security, legal compliance). You may withdraw consent at any time; this may limit some features.
When you enter your customers' details, you decide why/how that data is used. In legal terms you are the Data Fiduciary for your customers' data and we are only a Data Processor acting on your instructions. You are responsible for having a lawful basis/consent to collect it, informing your customers where required, and handling their requests. We process it only to provide the App to you.
We do not sell your data, and we never share your shop, product, invoice or customer data for advertising. We share only with: Service providers (sub-processors): primarily Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage, App Check) and Google Play services. Payment processing: when you pay the subscription fee, the transaction is handled by Google Play Billing under Google's own privacy policy; we receive only the payment status and a transaction reference. Analytics & advertising partners: Google (Firebase Analytics) and Meta (Facebook) receive your device's advertising ID and app-usage events described in Section 2, so we can measure how our ads perform — never your business or customer data. Bill sharing you initiate: when you share via WhatsApp or another app, that content is then governed by that app's policy (for WhatsApp, Meta's policy). We don't control it. Legal/safety: if required by law or to prevent fraud/abuse. Business transfers: in a merger/acquisition/asset sale, subject to this Policy.
Cloud data is stored via Google Firebase, which may process data on servers outside India. Where data leaves India, we rely on our providers' safeguards and applicable Indian law. By using signed-in features you consent to this. In offline mode, data stays on your device.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures (encryption in transit, authenticated access, Firebase infrastructure protections). However, no system is 100% secure. Keep your login credentials and device safe.
We retain data while your account is active or as needed to provide the App. GST/tax records and payment/subscription records: Indian tax law generally requires records to be kept up to 72 months (about 6–8 years), so such records may be retained for that period even after you stop using the App. Otherwise we delete or anonymise data within a reasonable period unless law requires longer.
Subject to law, you may: access, correct/update, and erase your data; withdraw consent; nominate another person to exercise your rights (per DPDP Act); and seek grievance redressal (Section 14). To exercise any right, email gettezbill@gmail.com; we respond within legally required timelines.
Request deletion anytime via Settings → Delete Account (if available) or by emailing gettezbill@gmail.com with your registered email/phone. We remove your personal data from active systems, except data we must retain by law (e.g. tax and payment records). Offline-only data is removed when you delete it or uninstall.
The App is for business use and not directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect children's data; contact us to delete any such data.
The App relies on Google, Firebase, the Meta (Facebook) SDK, WhatsApp and Google Play Billing, governed by their own privacy policies. We're not responsible for their practices.
